ATOM Strengthens Community Healthcare Access with Hemodialysis Machine Donation

Yangon, Myanmar, 25th March 2026 – ATOM, Myanmar’s leading 4.5G telecom provider, continues its ongoing commitment to supporting the communities in need by donating a hemodialysis machine to the Muslim Free Hospital in Kyauktada Township, Yangon. Valued at approximately 13,500 USD, the contribution aims to strengthening access to life-saving dialysis treatment for patients requiring urgent care.

This initiative is implemented under ATOM’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pillar of “Advancing Life and Education”. Muslim Free Hospital was selected for this initiative due to its longstanding commitment to providing free healthcare services to the patients from all communities, regardless of race or religion.

The machine is expected to benefit nearly 10,000 patients requiring urgent hemodialysis care. This newly donated German-made 4008S Classic Basic Version hemodialysis machine will enhance the hospital’s treatment capacity, with each dialysis session taking approximately four hours and enabling the machine to support multiple patients daily.

 

U Thein Hoke, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of ATOM, also shared, “Supporting community healthcare remains a key focus of our CSR initiative. This contribution comes under our three main CSR pillars as we are always trying to support where it is needed most. Based on the patients' needs in Myanmar, we conducted this contribution, and we hope to support the kidney patients who urgently require dialysis treatment. We are deeply grateful for this opportunity to contribute to the well-being of vulnerable communities. We are going to complete all the process of machine installation at the hospital; and will do our best for the patients to be able to get treatment as soon as possible.”

 

Hemodialysis treatment is critical for patients with kidney failure, yet many patients face long waiting periods due to resources condition. At Muslim Free Hospital, the demand for dialysis treatment remains high, with a waiting list of many patients, highlighting the urgent need for additional medical equipment.

 

A representative from Muslim Free Hospital expressed appreciation for the contribution, noting that “For those suffering from kidney disease, dialysis treatment is vital for survival. Donating a single dialysis machine is an indeed charitable act, as it grants many patients the opportunity to extend their lives. The hospital was established in 1937, and has been providing free healthcare services to countless patients for 89 years. We deeply appreciate ATOM’s generosity and support, which brings hope not only to patients but also to their families. This donation, driven by the humanitarian spirit rather than profit, serves as good example for society. We deeply value and are grateful for ATOM’s contribution.”
